Healthy Eating Online Directories Debut

SustainableTable.org now serves up a healthy dose of cookbooks, recipes and eating tips for both homebodies and travelers. Its sister site, EatWellGuide.org, adds to the goodies by directing us to local sustainable food farms, stores and restaurants. Its 8,000 updated North American listings are easy to find by zip code. Products include meat, dairy and eggs as well as fruits and veggies. So wherever we go, it’s easy to find healthy eco-friendly food.

Sustainable Table founder Diane Hatz notes that in the United States alone, some 55 million “green” consumers have emerged as a major force moving organic foods into the mainstream. Moreover, “they are constantly searching for ways to become more sustainable,” she says. To that end, educational articles and a free e-newsletter on these sites explore both relevant issues and benefits of a sustainable diet.
