Terrible Times With Teens
Nov 8, 2017 to Nov 22, 2017
12:00 PM until 01:00 PM
This event occurs weekly, on Wednesday.
Teenage years are tumultuous! Nothing makes a parent feel more powerless than coping with an acting-out teen. Susie Basler MS, LMSW will lead this group and focus on the power you DO have. The group will identify problem areas and Susie will share ideas that worked for her and the staff at Project Return.
Group members are empathetic and understanding of one another. They are working on the following common issues: developing healthier intimate relationships; improving the capacity to express feelings authentically; increasing assertiveness; reducing shame; reducing social anxiety; increasing self-awareness.
Susie Basler MS, LMSW is a Licensed Master Social Worker who will be leading groups, as well as, individual therapy sessions for women and children. Susie has degrees from the University of Wisconsin (BS) and the University of Chicago School of Social Work Administration (MSW). She has extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt, and the treatment of trauma. She has long been a voice for healing in the Westport/Fairfield community. For 30 years she was Executive Director of Project Return, a highly regarded, private, non-profit group home for teenage girls in Westport. Now in private practice, Susie uses her skills to help individuals identify their strengths, find their empathy, and be their best selves.
