Individuals who work in the field of physical therapy are invited to attend a one-day course focusing on “Evidence-Based Treatment of the Parkinson Patient,” which will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 3 at Hodges University’s Naples campus.
Physical therapist and adjunct professor in Hodges’ physical therapist assistant program Jeanne Csuy will provide participants with valuable insight as to how various treatments can be used to treat a Parkinson patient, including therapeutic approaches, exercises and modifications in treatment to address functional deficits across the disease spectrum.
Throughout the day, participants will learn about pathology, epidemiology, stages of the disease, medical management, implementation of treatment strategy, in addition to viewing a Parkinson patient demonstration of strategies.
The cost to attend is $135 for physical therapist assistants (PTAs), physical therapists (PTs) and doctors of physical therapy (DPTs). Hodges University PTA alumni as well as clinical instructors who have instructed a Hodges PTA student may attend for $55.
